- Introduction
Dr. Tung is a professor in the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Taiwan University, where she has been since 2006. She received her Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University in 2004. Her research interests span both water quality and microbiology. Much of her work has been focused on water treatment, disinfection, and disinfection byproduct control, especially for biological potable water treatment, chlorine and UV disinfection process, rainwater harvesting, biological stability in the water distribution system, and microbial ecology in water distribution and built environments. Dr. Tung has been involved in many water-related organizations, such as the Chinese Taiwan Water Works Association, Taiwan Society of Microbial Ecology, and International Water Association, and is currently a board member of the Water Affairs Organization Taiwan. She served as an editor in the Journal of Water Supply: Research and Technology AQUA from 2016 to 2020 and Water Supply from 2020 to date.
