I was born and raised in an area rich in nature, which is why I became interested in environmental issues. At Okayama University, I have studied environmental issues comprehensively with a focus on chemistry, because it is a complex issue involving social, political, and technical issues. I have also participated in internships to learn about the forestry industry in Okayama Prefecture, picked up trash in town and at the mouth of rivers, and taught at educational events for children.
There are two main types of educational events: one at a local science museum and the other at elementary and junior high schools. One is to get elementary and junior high school students interested in climate change by visualizing CO2 concentrations, and the other is to get them interested in the SDGs through a card game. We hope that by providing an opportunity to develop an interest in these topics, we will be able to change the children's behavior and that of their families.
