International Environmental Education Workshop
Each year, APRC arranges International Environmental Education Workshop for foreign students from the Asia-Pacific region studying in Taiwan. By participating in the workshop, APRC hopes that participants will gain an understanding of what environmental issues and actions are currently being taken in Taiwan.
Up to now, there have been four sessions with a total of 114 participants from 26 countries. In the future, the event will continue to be organized so that the world can see Taiwan's outstanding environmental education experience and creative actions.
2020 - Environmental Actions: The Force Awakens
Thirty students and environmental educators from different countries were introduced to Taiwan's experience in environmental education and innovative strategies for environmental action. Through group discussions and brainstorming, participants were inspired to share their ideas and solutions to environmental issues in their hometowns. The workshop asked participants to bring along reusable food ware and actually applied no-plastic lifestyle at a night market. Furthermore, the participants were introduced to the Taijiang National Park and Qiaonan Community to explore the environmental education programmers, enjoy the traditional puppet shows with environmental protection concepts delivered. With the experience of the local force of environmental education, the workshop made a deep impression and was highly appreciated.

2021 - Marine Waste
Following up the theme of 2020, the theme of the 2021 International Environmental Education Workshop focuses on the understanding of marine waste and how to deal with it. The experiences can be used as a model for other countries to deal with environmental issues. In this way, it will broaden Taiwan's influence and promote international cooperation.

On August 18th to 19th, 30 youths from 19 countries visited Ririren Company and TSMC Eco Park. They were encouraged to explore the experience and strategy of air pollution and climate change in Taiwan, and to develop the ability to solve environmental problems. Air pollution and climate change have no boundaries, but environmental education and the cultivation of the concept of sustainable development have no limitations. It is hoped that in the future, when challenged with environmental issues in their own countries and regions, participants will be able to put into practice these ideas and continue to implement environmentally sustainable concepts, letting the environmental education seeds spread around the world.
