MICAH S. DE LEON earned her communication degree from the University of the Philippines - Baguio. She currently works as the OIC Section Chief at the Climate Change Mainstreaming and Integration Division of the Climate Change Service
in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Philippines.
Ms. De Leon has four years of professional experience in program leadership, policy development, and coordination. She has been actively involved in the implementation of the Risk Resiliency Program of the Cabinet Cluster on Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction of the government, particularly in the development of Resiliency Roadmaps with Investment Portfolio for Risk Resilience for the identified climate-vulnerable areas in the Philippines. In this capacity, Ms. De Leon works closely with the local government units to enable the translation of these plans into action. Ms. De Leon is also a key player in developing information, education, and communication campaigns and advocacy programs on climate change. She is the Program Leader of Mga Kwentong KLIMAlikasan Climate and Disaster Resiliency Recognition Awards program, a transformative initiative celebrating and acknowledging the remarkable endeavors of individuals, groups, and local government units championing a net-zero/low-carbon green lifestyle. The awards spotlight outstanding contributions to carbon footprint reduction and the promotion of efficient, sustainable resource utilization. She is also an integral contributor to the radio program "Ang Tinig Klima," imparting crucial insights and mobilizing communities towards a more environmentally-conscious future.
She is currently in her first year of law school studies at a distinguished university in the Philippines.
