Surani Hasanati is an Educator Staff at the Department of Development Geography, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Director of the SDGs Forum-SDGs Seminar Series, Faculty of Geography, UGM. Participating in various short courses began in 2011 at the Faculty of Earth Science Observation, ITC, Universiteit Twente, the Netherlands with the theme Risk Management and Environmental Assessment for Spatial Planning. Speakers in various public lectures, seminars and workshops, began during the collaboration of Joint FieldWork Regional Development Study Program Universitas Gadjah Mada with Planning and Architecture King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand in 2013. In 2014, started collaboration with several organizations and institutions such as UNESCO, UMGIEP, Regional Centre of Expertice, etc. Active in the International River Symposium and Women in River since 2015 in Brisbane, Australia as well as active in Rural Research and Planning Group (Asian Forum for Rural, Research, Planning and Development) since 2014 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Appointed as Director of Indonesian Women in River from 2016-2019. Has been the Secretariat of the Higher Education Leadership Forum for Geography and Geography Education throughout Indonesia (FORPIMGEO) since 2017. Assisting the concept and implementation of Education for Sustainable Development as part of University community services since 2014. Actively researching and writing publications with interest in gender studies and development, regional development, community and development, and sustainable development.
