Thiaga Nadeson is Head of Education and Markets at WWF-Malaysia, where one of his main focuses is to support Environmental Education or Education for Sustainable Development in Malaysia. He is an advisory member of the Asia Pacific Regional Centre and Global Environmental Education Practitioner. He was a Board member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) based in Denmark. During this tenure, he was the Board’s Eco-Schools programme country advisor to Singapore and Mongolia. He was with the Ministry of Education, Malaysia for 5 years before joining WWF-Malaysia. In his 20 years of working experiences here, he has introduced many significant programs to Malaysia such as Green Schools, Sustainable Teacher Education Institute, Eco-Schools, and FEE Eco-Campus. As an expert in Environmental Education, he represented Malaysia Government through the Ministry of Education Malaysia in the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Education. He also leads teams that engage with Malaysian corporates, regulators, stock exchange, banks, and institutional investors in a range of advocacy, capacity building, and research initiatives on corporate sustainability and sustainable finance, including Islamic banking. Within these years as WWF-Malaysia staff, he was exposed to various conservation issues and projects including the most trending issues – climate change, plastic, and species.
